Fran was a dear friend to my mom Diane Crawford. I really enjoyed meeting her and Gene when they lived next door to mom and dad in Meneset and then by coincidence they were neighbours once again in Strathroy. Mom and Fran had a great time going on bus trips, and I enjoyed many outings too: theatre in Petrolia and Grand Bend and a trip to Goderich. Fran was instrumental in the planning of mom's surprise 90th birthday dinner in September. We loved her dearly and miss her so much. ❤️

Fran and Gene were good neighbours when we were all at Meneset. Fran was my friend and golf partner for interclub golf at Goderich Sunset. She was the anchor of our twosome and also of our sharing of many of life's concerns.

Dear Family: We have fond memories of Fran and Gene from when they lived in Goderich. We remember the car rides and the shared carpentry skills with great fondness. Because of Gene, we built Christmas Angels for our front lawn and a wooden Easter Bunny for our children. Fran's encouragement led me to volunteer at the local nursing home, and from there, I became involved in Hospice Care. These memories of Fran and Gene bring comfort, and we hope they do the same for you. Please accept our sincerest condolences on Fran's passing.

I have known Fran for many years when my parents and us were neighbours and the kindness that was shown to us from both Fran and Gene, I will never forget. Mary and family, accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Fran. I knew Fran through The CWL at All Saints. This picture is one I took of her at our 2024 Valentine's tea.
When I think of Fran, the word "unassuming" comes to mind. She was present at meetings but didn't feel compelled to speak up 'just because'. (Or maybe my fast talking was simply too hard to hear!). Either way, I found that when she had suggestions, they were wise.
On Good Friday, Fran made a pot of soup for our charity lunch. Discovering it would be impossibily heavy to bring to church, she wasn't to be discouraged. She instead invited her neighbours to a bowl and explained the charities and goodwill offering being collected at church. All soup was eaten, friendship was shared, and our next meeting, her collected donations were brought in. I loved that ingenuity!
Fran had a patient heart for friends in need, and a smile for those around her. I regret not having gotten to know her better, but am grateful to God for her having been a part of my life in a small way.

Fran was a dear friend of mom's (Diane Crawford) and I so enjoyed our outings together and dinners at mom's. Fran was instrumental in ensuring moms 90th birthday dinner was a surprise - that was a lot of fun. She had a sharp sense of humour and I know she loved mom dearly. We will miss her so much.

Sending my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your dear Mom/Grandma/GGrandma! I have many special memories of “Mrs Donohue” .. from the fun times I spent at your house on Burns street.. to her being my baseball coach .. to the times I’d run into her at the grocery store! Always smiling and so cheerful! Squeeze tight your memories .. tucking them close to your heart - I know I will!! Mary, Stephen and families....Fran was a wonderful person, very wise and spiritual. I knew Fran from Strathroy but had the pleasure of working with Fran as our Chaplain and Palliative Care support at Huronview and Huronlea Homes for the Aged in Huron County. The residence and staff both loved Fran and looked forward to seeing her. After Fran left the homes I kept thinking I needed to connect with her again. I did see Fran at the golf course in Strathroy and we agreed to get together ........but time passes and now I will only have good memories! We had some wonderful chats .... Fran will be missed by all her knew Fran and her big smile - RIP.
