Obituary of Doreen Lambert

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Velma “Doreen” Lambert (nee Young), on August 12^th, 2024, at the age of 88. Predeceased by her loving husband Bob of 63 years, and infant daughter, Nancy. Loving mother to Karen Fletcher and Kathy Smith (Sandy). Grandmother to Jonathan, Adam (Courtney), Marleigh (Tyler), Emma (Aaron), and Lloyd (Danielle). Great grandmother to Hailey, Nora, Nolan, and Lewis. Predeceased by eleven brothers and sisters and spouses: Irene (Bill) Williams, Donald (Harriet) Young, Lloyd (Anna) Young, Dorothy (Harold) Williams, Beatrice (Cecil Weese and Joseph Payne), Ellis Young (Shirley and Ken Arnold), Elsie (Peter) Clubb, Robert (June) Young, Gordon (Eileen) Young, Bruce (Marlene) Young, Muriel (Reg Hardy and Tom Walker), and in-laws Ida (Bill) Laughton, and Clarence Wiley. Survived by in-laws Betty Wiley, and Bill (Shirley) Lambert. She was also much loved by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Doreen loved to bake, travel, feed the hummingbirds, garden, do puzzles, and spend time with her loving family and friends. She was heavily involved in many community organizations and events throughout her lifetime.

The family would like to thank all the staff at both Strathroy Middlesex General and University Hospitals for all their care and compassion.

Visitation will take place on Thursday August 22, 2024 from 10am until the time of service at 11am, at Denning’s of Strathroy, followed by an urn burial at Strathroy Cemetery, and a luncheon to take place afterwards at the Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital or the Neurology and TIA Stroke Department at University Hospital.
