Marleigh and family
I am so sorry to hear of your family’s great loss. I did not know your Grandma personally, only through the wonderful stories told by you all. I remember watching her walk down the aisle at Marleigh’s wedding proud as punch, a beautiful smile and surrounded by her adoring family. I have often said that your family was a particularly special, a one of a kind group in that you were so close and just uniquely true hearted, kind people. I see now that it was passed down thru the generations.
Please know that we are thinking of you all at this great time of sorrow, in the loss of such a beautiful soul.

My love for Doreen started as a young girl. So many memories, so much love. Ellis’s death and support she gave our struggling family, Karen’s 1st birthday celebration, my first thunder storm away from home..she comforted me as I cried and wanted to go home and be with mom who was scared of storms and always tucked us safely in basement under the stairs., talked me out of going home til morning and smiled when I forgot about going home once storm passed, invited me and kids to visit when marriage failed and gave my girls wrinkles dogs which they still have, embraced my new husband. She is the most loving and respected woman I knew. We laughed and cried together, shared stories and love. Always made sure my husband was fed and had his Coke Zero. Aunt Doreen, I will hold you in my heart beside my Mom and Dad until I die. Thank you for loving us and caring. We extend our deepest sympathy for your daughters and their families as they grieve. May your memories you leave us help in this sad transition and we will meet in again in heaven. Give Uncle Bob a hug from us ❤️
Love John & Cherie

Grandma lambert she welcomed me into your house with open arms. Always chatting with me about her times in brigden and petrolia. Grandma did an amazing job teaching her grand daughters Emma and Marleigh the art of pie making and baking. Thanks so much for the memories even tho are time knowing each other was short. I feel for the whole family for there loss

Doreen was such an amazing lady. She always wore a beautiful smile of welcome. She taught me the ropes of how the ladies baking division of the Melbourne Fair worked. What was involved with the judging etc. She had a beautiful laugh and a wonderful way of including you. Years later she would always stop and ask about our kids whenever I saw her. She never forgot their names. Our community has lost another of its matriarch. My deepest sympathy to her entire family. She was truly one of a kind.

Doreen and I spent many teenage years together. Such fun at the Young’s. Visited after Doreen and Bob married. Caught up a few years ago. Bob always brought a boy with him when dating Doreen for me! I can still hear Doreen quirky laugh. Rest in Peace. Prayers for all the family. Gord and Barb Leaper.
