Obituary of Thomas Patrick "Pat" Ferris

Peacefully at home on September 25, 2023, Thomas Patrick “Pat” Ferris passed away in his 77th year. Pat was the loving husband of Gayle (nee Keys) for 52 cherished years. He was the proud father of Wesley (Emma Niedzwiecki) Ferris and Heather (Richard) Bolton. Pat was the adored Papa of Parker, Lauren, and Allison. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Pat was the son of the late Terry and Phyllis Ferris, and he was predeceased by his brother Michael Ferris and sister Kerry. Pat is survived by his sister Kathryn (Blanche Savage) Ferris. He will be dearly missed by his in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many long-time friends. 

Pat taught history at SDCI for 30 years. He coached many sports at the highschool, with his main passion coaching the senior girls basketball team. Pat was devoted to and proud of his family, and was thrilled to become a grandparent.  He liked nothing better than watching his grandkids at sporting events and dance recitals, getting down on the floor to play, and learning how to colour all over again. 

A Celebration of Life for Pat will be held on Saturday September 30th, 2023, from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at DENNING'S OF STRATHROY with words of remembrance at 2:00pm.

Pat bravely battled pancreatic cancer for a year and half. The family is extremely grateful for the excellent care that Pat received at the London Regional Cancer Program, including from Dr. Breadner and Nurse Navigator Nancy Gregg, and from Home and Community Care Services, including NP Katarina Girard, visiting nurse Lorena Sanchez, and many others.
