Dear Iris. Deepest condolences to you, Lynne and family on Don's passing. We think of you often as we need only to look across the street to be reminded of the days you, Don and Muffy were our good neighbors. Don was truly a renaissance man and has left much to be remembered by.

Last month I lost a dear friend and college, we never went fishing, but we had fun in many other ways. I give my sympathy to all members of his family especially Iris, we love her dearly, and we will not forget about her. Working with Don was a pleasure, we had many things in common through our work, He had high principles, impeccable work ethics and was unwavering in his believes of right and wrong. His painting skills were beyond mastery, writing he could as well and wanted to leave a legacy for his family, he managed to do all that. He made the world a better place because he has lived in it. Miss you.

Dear Mrs. Mulcahy and Family:
When my brother, Rene Dikkes, told me about the death of Donald, I was deeply sorry. Please accept my sincere sympathy. Although I only met Donald a few times, I found him to be a very cordial and engaging person.
After reading his amazing obituary, I was most impressed with his successful dental career, which he accomplished with very hard work. As well, after retirement, he certainly continued to explore his many artistic pursuits with enthusiasm and joy regardless of the years. Leaving your family with a sense of the value of remaining creative throughout a lifetime is a unique legacy, which your family must cherish.
Again, please accept my condolences and kind regards.
Very respectfully yours,
Patrick Dikkes, Sarnia, ON

It was always a pleasure to discuss or debate points of life and/or theology with Don when I was the minister at St. Andrew's, to make life richer for both of us in the exchange. I admired his water-drop paintings - not a style for everyone, but abstract and wonderful all the same! May God's blessings be with you all as you celebrate his life!
