Dave will be truly missed. He was a great neighbor and friend. He worked diligently as a member of the Lions Club, a business owner and a family man to make our community a great place to live. He was caring, dependable, a good listener and always there when you needed a helping hand. Cliff will miss riding with Dave pulling Santa Claus through the Christmas parade. Dave loved watching the excitement and joy of the children as they watched Santa approaching. Dave's smile was a big as the kid's. We know Dave will have that same smile and satisfaction as he watches over Donna, Christine, Michelle, Mathew, Keith and their families.
He will be truly missed

Dear Aunt Donna, Christine, Michelle, Matthew, Keith and family we are so sorry for your loss. Losing such an important person in your life is…well, there are no words. The family photos you have posted are absolutely stunning and a testament to the memories you’ve shared and how you’ll always hold each other close during the good time and the challenges. I will never forget uncle David taking Christine and on oh so many adventures, my summers spent in Strathroy, our trip to Disney, or just sitting around at the cottage chatting. Speaking of the cottage, Doug really misses talking meat and smoking procedures with him. Uncle David was always smiling, inviting you in and ready for whatever was next. Even if what was next was painting the huge apartment above Bailey’s.
You will be missed and live on in our fond memories Uncle David

We are heartbroken to have lost our dear friend. To say we always looked forward to seeing David at the cottage is an understatement. He was the absolute best project partner, always available to brainstorm on projects, lend a hand, a tool, a custom-built beam, or a son to help out. David was our go-to for local connections and daily wisdom, and his kindness, encouragement and generosity were unparalleled. We are beyond thankful for 22 years of friendship, and that we were able to share in the joy he found in his favorite place and his favorite people, his beautiful family. One of my favorite memories is the thanksgiving feast we had with both of our families squeezed into our tiny cottage.
David, I will miss your smile, your laugh, your steadiness, your updates and pictures, your hospitality, and saying “oh good, David’s here!” when we saw your truck in the driveway. Thank you for keeping Kurt busy so I could relax and read a good book in the sun! Thanks again for that time you got the bat out of our shower when I was up with my littles, and when you got me a hiking pole when Kurt tricked us into hiking boulder beach in Tobermory. #Hero
Donna, Christine, Michelle, Matthew, Keith, Vik, Emily, Jessica, Nyan and Davina, There are no words to express our sadness for your loss. Nothing was more precious to David than his family and he leaves such a beautiful legacy through each of you. I know he will continue to love and watch over you and your families until you are together again. Much love to all of you, now and always.

Dear Donna and Brander Family,
David was a friend to many, but words cannot express how good of a friend he was to me and my family. He was my neighbor at the cottage, friend, mentor, and sometimes a co-conspirator. We spent our summers, and raised our children alongside each other, and made many memories that I will always treasure. We took our kids horseback riding by moonlight thru the forest, kayaked, traveled, hiked boulder beach, and enjoyed cottage concerts with Uncle Kenny on the cottage lawn. He always made us feel welcome and there was always room for anyone who happened to find their way to our cottage road. He was there to help when the truck with my load of gravel happened to cut the power line interrupting power to the whole cottage road, and to lend a hand and advice when the Bunkie slumped on the bank. When the border closed to the US and we were not allowed to visit, he and his wonderful family looked after our place and sent pictures of our places and sunsets. He was a good man and I am truly blessed to call him a friend.
With Prayers for comfort,
Kurt Odrobina

Our sincere sympathy to the Brander family. Our hearts are broken. We would always see Dave outside at the cottage, first thing in the morning with his coffee cup in hand. He would be tending to his raised garden. We would chat about what was growing well (carrots and basil) and what was temperamental. We will miss seeing him on the lawnmower, or by the fire - greeting us with a smile and a wave. Glendale Road will not be the same without him. We are sending you peace and strength. Donna, My heart goes out to you and your family
I cannot express how much it saddens me to hear of Dave's passing. You both have always been there for my family. Memories, there are so many. From poker nights, dance nights, Gord and Dave fishing, Gord and Dave working together and one of my best is when John was born and Dave kept Gord calm. AND it can not be forgot the bet Dave and I had to see who could take Meneset curves the fastest. Words can not say enough about the true loss in Dave's passing, but may we take comfort in knowing Gord and Dave are together (maybe even sharing a good shot of Crown Royal)
