As a pastor/minister Rob lived his life in joy and pleasure. He served the Lord with joy and laughter and humor and wit. I remember the time he brought the family dog to church for the children's time. He believed God placed animals on earth to teach the two-legged sheep lessons about living, loving, trusting. Our family is richer for serving with you and your family at Kitchener East Presbyterian Church. Until we meet again I know you will be cheering us on with joy laughter and wit.

My heartfelt sympathy is extended to Valerie and family, his mother Etna, and siblings, and other extended family. Rob's compassion and positive outlook made him an asset in many situations and I fondly remember our association at Oakridge, London, many years ago, and more recently at St. Andrew's, Strathroy. He will be greatly missed.

To Valerie and all of Rob's family. I remember how kind Rob and Valerie were to my Mom, Frances McCallum, when she was at Bobier Villa. And also how supportive Rob was to Cathy and Arnold Clarke when Cathy had surgery and Rob sat with Arnold at the hospital. We also saw Rob uptown when we lived in Rodney. He will surely be missed! Sincerely. Dorothy Gillies.

My sincere condolences to the whole Shaw family. Val, I remember how you and Rob showed your hospitality to me when Rob was moderator of the churches I preached at. I am thankful for the support and advice Rob has always offered to me in my work with the churches. He was so positive and encouraging, a great blessing to many. May his influence shine on in those whose lives he touched.
The memories you have shared in the photographs are beautiful. May God give you peace and strength in the days ahead, and joy as you remember your time with Rob and the hope we have in God's promises.

Our family came to know Mr Shaw a couple years ago. We are extremely saddened by this news of his passing. We will also remember our conversations with him at his grandchild’s bus stop. While we did not know Mr Shaw all that well, he seemed like a man that was full of life, with endless love for his grandchildren, wife, son and daughter-in-law. Mr Shaw, we think the world of Nathan, Ammy, Cassandra and Lincoln. You can sure be proud of the legacy you leave them.
Our Condolences,
The Smith Family.

Dear Valerie and family, Katharine and I are shocked and saddened to learn of Bob’s death. The last time we saw you was in Teeswater. Bob was a great classmate and friend. He had a non threatening ability to take the wind out of pompous people and make all around him see the lighter side of life. We are so very, very sorry. Herb Hilder and Katharine Michie
