My first memory of Uncle Henry at about 2 or 3 was during the construction of my Dad's house at 495 Laurier. It was a muddy mess and I made it to the top of the ladder that descended into the future basement. Uncle Henk was on the top rung waiting. He then pulled out an orange and peeled it for me. My last memory was at my Dad's funeral a few years ago. Uncle Henry brought joy on these two occasions and at every one in between. I will miss him. My thoughts to you Stephen and to all he left behind.

Thank you for sharing Gerard, it was a special relationship, as with your father, both our Dads had a firm foundation on how to treat all those they met with the respect and brought honor to the Olsthoorn name, always.
Every time we heard that Uncle Henry and Aunt Mary were coming for a visit, we knew we would laugh. Uncle Henry would always find time to talk to everyone, spread his contagious laugh and bring light to the room.

I remember many family dinners with Oom Henk (Aunt Mary and Stephen) and lots of fun times at their cottage in port Stanley. Henk was my God Father and was always kind and generous with his time for me.
Henry taught me how to play pickle ball and more importantly he showed me how to be a gentleman and live a good life. My wife enjoyed dancing with him.

Thank you Martin, your mother, Gertie, and her entire family were Dad's adopted family over the last several years - he flourished with you all and enjoyed your company so much! It was such a beautiful chapter added to his life.
