Rob was a giant of a man both in character and physical stature. He impacted my family first in his love of Carol and later in his unfailing, wonderful support of my father as he struggled with dementia. I've never met a person like Rob who would drop what he was doing and rush to help no matter the circumstances. He definitely had an impact on my family and myself. I will never forget his noble contributions to the world and the people lucky enough to be in his circle of friends.

Carol and family,Iris and I were shocked to hear of Robs passing.The world is a better place because of people like Rob.I only knew Rob for a few years but it seemed like we were life long friends.we always looked forward to seeing the both of you when u came up to the cottage. Everything has changed.. My heart is broken.
There are no words to express what you meant to me and for being the Dad you didn't have to be. Family is not only defined by last names or by blood. To me, its defined as commitment, support and unconditional love. A Dad is not only defined as the man who makes the child, but rather the man who takes his time and hands to help raise the child through everything. This was you, Rob. You weren't just my stepdad, you were the dad that stepped up.
There is no possible way I could begin to repay you or show you my gratitude for all that you have done for me as I grew up and even now as an adult. Without it, I would not be who or where I am today.

When I heard about the passing of Rob i was very sad and shocked about it. Rob was someone that I looked up to and had a lot of respect for. He was a real stand up guy, worked hard to provide for his family, he was a generous, kind and an amazing human being. You will be missed by all of us, you are a real mans man (great example of what a man should be).

My words aren’t sufficient to express the sadness I feel right now. Rob was such a great guy and I am so glad that we, out west, got to meet and know him.
I know I can speak for all of us (here and gone) when I say that we all thought the world of him. Know that we share your grief. He was a good man and raised a wonderful family. The world is a better place for him having been in it and I know he’ll always be missed and remembered with love and respect.
My son Steve said something about Rob. He said that Rob fighting for all those added years after he was diagnosed, will have such an impact on how his family, being older now, will be able to deal with him being gone. That all the added love and wisdom that you received from him during those years will have had a huge impact on you all. I think that has to be true. He fought hard for a good reason.
