With heavy hearts, the family of Willo June (Rees) Battersby announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020 in her 88th year at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy, ON. Cherished wife of John Battersby. Beloved mother of Heather Morwood (Earl), Chris Battersby (Laurie), Jennifer Lee (Bill Pigram) and Peter Battersby (Georgie). Proud grandmother to Karen, Craig (Tory), Meghan (Keith), Shawn, Jenna, Jeffrey (Brittnee), Ryan (Victoria), Lydia (Adam), Garrett, Spencer and Connor. Loving great- grandmother of Amelia, Avant, Alivia, Zachary, Emily and Mason. Survived by her sister-in-law Anne Ewaschuk (Harry), brothers-in-law Geoffrey Battersby (Gwynne), the late David Battersby (Janet).

Mom’s life was her family. She was so proud of them all.  She will be remembered as always being supportive and available to listen to her family and friends. Never an unkind word was said: she was a gentle soul. Willo was a marvelous knitter, and all family members were excited to receive one of her works of art. Her cookies, breakfasts, special gifts and poems will be fondly remembered.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Strathmere Lodge for their care and compassion during her time at the home.
