George Parkin, 90, of Coldstream, passed away on Sunday, August 16th, 2020, twelve years to the day after the passing of his beloved wife Betty (White). Dear father of Michael and Sandra Parkin of Ilderton, Tom and Cindy Parkin of Bright and Gary and Karin Parkin of Guelph. Loving grandfather of Tammy (Mike), Tim (Tanya), Kevin (Eileen), Noah (Hannah) and Ebonee (Jamie). Proud great-grandfather of Bradley, Lauren, Danica, Brody, Hailey, Avery, Braylin, Isabella, Lochlan, Emmersyn, Lennoyx, Layker and Ivy. Brother of the late Jean Colgan and Isabel Murray. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

George worked for many years driving the grader for Lobo Township and knew the roads like the back of his hand.  He and his wife, Betty, were founders and long-standing volunteers with the Coldstream Fire Department. They enjoyed many years of happy camping with their friends in the Roadrunners Camping Club.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Jessica’s House in Exeter for the gentle and compassionate care they gave George in his final days, and also the staff at Seasons in Strathroy who have made the past two years carefree and fun for George.

A graveside service will take place at Poplar Hill Cemetery on August 20th, 2020. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Jessica’s House in Exeter, Middlesex Centre Fire Department, Coldstreams Fire Fighters Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and donations can be made at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
