I would like to offer my condolences to the Parkin family. I first met George many years ago when I worked for London Township roads and he for Lobo. We had lunch at the side of the road on the townline on a joint project. I was very young with lots to learn and your Dad was a good grader operator with a kind and gentle nature. It was nice to reconnect with George while he and my Dad were at Season’s. I miss our weekly chats. He was a true gentleman.

There is no tribute eloquent enough, nor words kind enough for our brother and uncle, George Parkin. George was bashful and brave, quietly intelligent, enthusiastic about everything undertaken by those he loved, a wry humourist with a finely honed sense of irony, a great storyteller, teacher and a true and natural leader within his community (and a gifted euchre player). George was a guidepost by which we all ought to live our lives. Although he missed Betty enormously, George filled in the void we all felt in her passing with his own generosity, graciousness, patience, wisdom and love - all the things we missed about his wonderful wife. Thanks George - you were one of a kind! With much love and affection, Shirley and Glenn Eastabrook and family.

Poppa was an amazing grandfather. I have such fond, lovely memories with him and Grandma. I am so blessed to have been able to spend as much time with him as I did. He was a wonderful Great Poppa, and loved my kids so much.
