We only just heard about Jean’s passing. Our condolences to Beth, Ted and families. Your Mom and Dad were such wonderful neighbours and we are reminded of them often on Evergreen Court.
I think Jean, "Miss Parkin", was in her second year of teaching when I started Grade 1 at Springbank School. About three years ago, Marion, a Grade 1 classmate and I went to visit Jean at her apartment. - she was as lovely and gracious as I remembered her. We reminisced about the one-room school and she told us about her family. My condolences to all of them.

My mom Betty (McLeish) Crawford spoke of Mrs. Colgan often as she was her teacher. My mom always told me that was the reason she became a teacher! I got to meet her a few times and she was just as lovely as my mom said. My condolences to your family.
My husband Bill and I used to clean for Jean. She taught me in grade 8. She was an amazing Lady and I'm certain she'll be missed by her family and others who had the pleasure of knowing her.
