Obituary of Dr. John Maximilian Thyret
Dr. John Maximilian Thyret, Chiropractor
Passed away at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, June 28th, 2018 at the age of 77.
Deeply missed by the love of his life, his wife of 28 years Sue Maes-Thyret. Lovingly remembered by his daughters Andrea Beth Kidd (Ken) and Tricia Thyret and their mother Karen Thyret. Also remembered with love by his step children Jason Viaene (Carol), Angela McHardy (Dan) and Andrea Brown. Blessed with 10 grandchildren: Cameron & Ryan Kidd; Emily, Kate & Ben Viaene; Maggie, Charlie & Nora McHardy; John & Braden Brown and their father Matt.
He will be sadly missed by his sister Carol Anne Bastian and her children William Bastian, Cathy Horton & Chris Louth who shared in many loving memories.
Fondly remembered by his in laws Linda & Rick Dennis, Don & Mary Maes, Ken & Donna Maes, Doug & Nicki Maes, Betty & Gerry Pichette, Mike Maes, & all his nieces and nephews.
Great memories from his Brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents John Edward & Clara Thyret (nee Farrell) and his brother in law William Bastian and his loving dog Scotty.
Born on April 14,1941 in Fort Erie, Ontario. John was raised in New York State.
He graduated from the Canadian Chiropractic College in 1963 and began practice in Western New York. He served in the United States Air Force Reserve. He returned to Canada in 1967 and established his practice in Strathroy where he practiced until 2015.
John was politically active in the chiropractic profession. He served many years on different boards: London Chiropractic Society, Ontario Chiropractic Association and was Vice President of the Canadian Chiropractic Association. John was a founding member of the Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association.
John was active in the community as a member and president of the Jaycees and a founding member of the Rotary Club of Strathroy and was instrumental in helping them be the first charter with women in Canada. He was also active with the Junior hockey club. He enjoyed sailing, skiing, bridge, hunting, golf & badminton.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Monday, July 2nd, 2018 from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. and 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. The memorial service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 3rdat 11:00a.m. Condolences for the family & donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation.
