Dear Cecelia and Family,
As you may recall Ron and I served together in 2 PPCLI during the period 1972-74. We were together again in Egypt in UNEF II. During quiet periods Ron and I would often play chess. We are still in the process of sorting out our move to London. He called me during this process and was hoping to meet once we got settled in. It was on my "to do" list.....
Had no idea Cecelia that Ron was that ill. I enjoyed the years I spent with Ron. I really liked him.
Donna and I offer our sincere condolences to you and the family on your loss.
Sincerely Donna and Lance Steel

Ron was a special man always talking about his new gadget or swing...very positive and enjoying life.
Cooking for his friends and playing the fiddle were his form of entertainment.Your family knows we are only a call away.
Hope we get to play the course up there together ....but as only you know buddy you have to send directions you always said I go the long way.

Dad found himself wondering whether there were any golf courses in Heaven. He even began to ask the question in his prayers. One day, in answer to his prayers, he received a direct answer from on high.
"Yes," said the Heavenly messenger, "There are many excellent golf courses in Heaven. The greens are always in first class condition, the weather is always perfect and you always get to play with the very nicest people."
"Oh, thank you," said Dad "That really is marvellous news."
"Yes, isn't it?" replied the messenger, "And we've got you down for a foursome on Saturday."
Dad always loved a good joke and I hope that this one is true!
Love you always,
Denise

My husband David Roberts (deceased 2006) & I spent many happy times with Ron & Cecilia on the golf course at Arkona when we lived in Komoka & they lived in Poplar Hill. Every werkend was a game of golf & then dinner together with friends.
Ron was always a happy person trying to find the right golf clubs to give him that perfect gsme of golf. I remember him as someone who lived, & enjoyed, life to the fullest!
