I am very sorry to say that I have just learned of Hadley's passing. My condolences to Cindy, Betty and Nancy on their loss. Hadley and Verda were very close to me for several years, welcoming me into their home and it was a time that often brings fond memories and a lot of laughs. Over the past few years I did drop in far to infrequently to say hi and catch up but each visit was a reason to reminisce a story and have a laugh again. Hadley was a teacher, a confident and a very dear friend. He will be missed by many but those whose lives he touched will never forget.
Rest in peace my friend !!

Three years ago, l was truly blessed to have been introduced to the Jenkins Family. Verda and Hadley were inseparable and depended on one another. Anyone could tell they adored each other. I would join them on their walks to the barn to see the animals as well as their visits to the cottage where they would sit and enjoy the scenery and each other. This was their love story!! I was their care provider but also became their friend.
After Verda passed, Cindy and l encouraged Mr. Hadley to carry on with his daily activities. We always enjoyed a golf cart ride around the farm and would sit at the cottage and reminisce about the past. Mr. Hadley was a proud, independent man, with a good sense of humour and loved his family dearly!
We always enjoyed our afternoon break of watching Heartland and of course a sweet treat!!
As time passed on, it was evident that he was missing Verda. I'm going to miss him but I'm sure they will be happy together again and their love story will continue!
It has truly been an honour to have been a part of Verda and Hadley's journey.
My sympathy for your loss and love to all.

I met Verda and Hadley just a few years ago and it was so evident that the two were so much in love. Verda enjoyed fashion and loved the colours rosey pink and fuschia which she wore often. Hadley and Verda would walk about the farm hand in hand checking out the chickens, cows and their donkey. I used to joke to Hadley about how lucky their donkey is as in Africa they are still used to pull donkey carts loaded with all the family members!
Hadley remained to be in denial after Verda passed and kept longing for her to return.I was fortunate to spend this past Thanksgiving and Christmas with Hadley but at Christmas time I think he realized that Verda was not coming back so he too decided he was not happy without her and had to be with her once again.
A special thanks to his loving and caring daughter Cindy for providing such a safe, healthy and happy home for her parents in their senior years while she put her life on hold to care for them. Cindy's partner Jim Chambers also needs recognition as he too has been a wonderful support to both Verda and Hadley in making their life so peaceful and worthwhile. The visits by granddaughter Melanie and her Paul were always a tremendous help to Cindy and around the farm. His dear friend Daryl should also be remembered for frequent visits to see Hadley, his support to Cindy in fixing machines etc. and sharing in what Hadley enjoyed most - having a spirited refreshment with friends.
I will miss you greatly Hadley and hearing your funny stories and telling of jokes but I know you are much happier now being with dear Verda once again.
farewell hadley - a new Jenkins' chapter begins.
With our deepest sorrow,
Joan & Doug Gerber

To the best Dad and friend a daughter could have. Hope you and Mom have fun dancing.
May you be as happy in heaven as you were on earth with Mom.

In my brief time visiting with Hadley I came to know a very caring man. He had the ability to always make me laugh whether it be at myself or at a shared joke between the 2 of us. Hadley was a very proud man and always spoke highly of his girls. I am going to miss his stories and his" here Tina take a bite out of this girl and you won't need to eat for a week." Canes "will never be the same again ...always threatening my toes!!
Miss you dearly my friend.
