Obituary of Jean van den Hengel

Peacefully passed at her home on January 30^th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late David van den Hengel (2008). Loving Mother of Joan (Perry) Jewell, Pat (Dan) Slegers, Deb (Joe) Joris, and Connie (Mike) VandenHeuvel. Cherished Grandma of Ian, Kyle, Eric, Nicole (Ben), Kayla, Stacey, Sarah, Alison, and Chad.  Predeceased by her beloved granddaughter Alisha. Survived by her siblings Jack (Mary) Van Gaal, Annie VanLieshout, Gerrit (Betty) Van Gaal, Grad (Annie) Van Gaal, Wilma (Guy) Vervoort, Mary VanGeel, and Irma (Bill) Sleegers. Survived by her in laws Truus (Gerry) Karperien, Sharon van den Hengel, Tina (Murray) Simons, Diane (Stan) Lewicki, Peter van den Hengel, Ria (Dennis) Brady, Nancy (Darryl) Asplund, John (Lissy) Husch.  Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Herman VanGaal, Martina and Henry Megens, her brother John Van Gaal and in laws John VanLieshout, George VanGeel, Liz Van Gaal, John van den Hengel, Ted van den Hengel, Rika (John) Burgwal, Toni Husch, Alphons Simons, and Edith van den Hengel. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2^nd, 2018 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3^rd, 2018 at 11a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Strathroy.
