Garry, My special childhood friend. We were virtually inseparable from grade one through highschool. we would run after school to meet at the YMCA to play ping pong or basketball. In high school Garry was the star and I was his determined shorter teammate. We laughed together , sang together, played all sports, shared lifes dreams , secrets, and formed our adult values together. I have the legacy of memories of Garry's gentleness , kindness , and humour,.
I cherish our many memories together. My thoughts are with you, Avril, Mark, and Steve and families. Your dad, was a very special friend . Jim

My memories of Garry are from my broker days and Garry would visit the office in his role at General Accident and also as co-council members of the local Insurance Institute. I remember he loved instructing and his students loved him. It was a sad day for Garry when his illness forced him to give up teaching. I am happy to see from the video that he still got to spend time enjoying another favourite activity - golfing. My condolences to Garry's family and friends.

Sending our condolences and kind thoughts to all of Garry's family.
Garry was a well-liked and well-respected member of the Insurance Institute - Southwestern Ontario Chapter, as well as a highly valued supporter of professionalism and higher education in the insurance industry. For many years, Garry taught the "Principles & Practices of Insurance" in downtown London, and always received very positive feedback from his students. Many of our members will remember the very positive impact he had at the start of their own insurance careers.

What a great video tribute! Loved all the songs, hearing Mr Garry do what he loves. I remember when we moved in next door I had to go over within a few days and karaoke. A crazy fun learning experience for me. Garry was an amazing neighbor and friend, he would do anything for anyone. It's sure going to be different on Abagail street without him. I will miss our little chats and laughs. A great guy who touch many lives for sure.

Garry,
So many people are going to miss you ..... including Glen and I and our grandchildren.. Glen and you travelled to to several hockey games over the years, watching our grandson Brian play, and the last few years watching Nick and Mason... and playing Santa to all 5 of our grandchildren.
You have been an inspiration to all who met you over the years, especially during your journey with Parkinson’s Disease.....it did not stop you from golfing, boating, driving your scooter, and enjoying karaoke..., but eventually, you did have to give these activities up.
You were always a kind and gentle man...
RIP.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you — Avril, Steve, Tina, Mark, Rehana, Jaya, and Saber. Xoxo
Hugs — Glen & Carol, Dave, Heather and Families.

Garry will be missed so very much on Abagail Street. He was well known to every resident & took great pride in his ‘deputy mayor’ status, always being the first to welcome a new face or family. He organized many street parties, pool, golf tournaments and backyard barbecues over the last several years. The children never recognized him as he made his yearly visit as Santa on Christmas Eve. He was an inspiration to all as he preservered with limitations brought on by Parkinson’s, even attempting waterskiing a couple of summers ago. We will all treasure the beautiful memories of a wonderful neighbor and friend ! Garry you will be missed ! Our condolences to Avril, Steve,Mark and their families.

My deepest sympathy with the passing of Garry - I had gotten to know Garry over the past few years through Karaoke Idol through Turkeyfest. Each year Garry would sing from his heart and this past year, he brought many of us to tears with his singing of "I did it my way" He was an inspiration to all us and taught us all to push through whatever life throws our way.
