It has been both a privilege and huge blessing to have known and shared in the beautiful and vibrant life of your precious Joan.
From the time we first met at Sophie Clark's Hairdressing where I had on occasion the pleasure of helping her hair look even more glamorous and not just for her I might add, but always for you :) Then later at M.B.C. where we all as part of the Family of God spent numerous times together both in and out of the Church celebrating some occasion or another. Sweet and cherished memories.
I remember our wedding shower in Malton, which was a girl and guy event, and Joan having great delight in Chuck opening a gift which she new was a Newfie Cod!!! I think she was in on that one!!
I remember Swiss Chalet Sunday lunches, also many times at Sophie's house, always together as families.
Then after we left for Alberta, we had the pleasure of you both visiting us there. I remember your comment Bill asking, " where are all the trees?" Well, we do have a few more now!!
And how can we forget Joan's newsy Christmas letters, always a joy to find out what all the family was up to, who was fundraising and who needed prayer and how it was also growing in numbers, Grandchildren and then Great Grandchildren. Also her continuous emails keeping me in touch and always when there was a need of a request for prayer.
Joan's life was a ongoing life of pouring out all of who God had created her to be, to her family, friends and the stranger on the street.... And always in the name of her Lord and Saviour.
I can only imagine now, her sheer Jubilance in His presence.

Dear Bill,
Please accept our deepest condolences for the passing of Joan. It's hard to use words to describe how deep is our sorrow when realizing that Joan is no longer on this earth with us. You and Joan were very good to us during our time in Toronto. Your love and friendship made a big difference for us when we were still new to this country. Dear Family,
We were sad to hear the news about Joan's passing. Although we did not know her personally, we were friends with Earl and Brenda. They shared her with us and know that while they grieve her passing, they rejoice as we do that she is in Heaven worshipping the Lord. Praying for peace and comfort for your family especially her husband Bill during this time.
Philippians 3:20-21: But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. Joan is having a great day!

Words are inadequate to express what my heart is feeling. I have lost one of the greatest blessings of my life, my friendship with you. The best friend is a praying friend, and that was where we connected more than anywhere else. My heart is filled with sadness of Auntie Joan's passing. She was a wonderful and caring aunt. Many dear and fond memories of her.....like when her and Uncle Bill would come watch me in skating shows; when she came to visit me in my dorm at Western; the kind card she sent me with such beautiful words after my grandma passed away. She was a beautiful lady who touched many hearts. She will be greatly missed. Our sympathy and thoughts are with you Uncle Bill and family at this sad time.
