Our sincere condolences to the family with the passing of Marinus. We were so lucky to have Marinus visit us the day before his passing. The following day we left for Cuba so we were not aware and could not be at his funeral.
Our prayers are with you,

We are so sorry to be so far away at this dreadful time. Though we only came to know him in the autumn of his life, we are greatful for the great times that we shared with Marinus and Dianne. A wonderful brother-in-law who will be deeply missed. Our deepest condolences to all.

Betty-Anne and Family,
I am so sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. Both your Mom and Dad, along with you Betty-Anne, played a big role in my life. I will always remember all of you for your amazing generosity and openness. I will never forget our trip to Italy and Holland, (and all the time spent at your home and with your parents) and I will be forever grateful for having had you, your Mom and your Dad in my life.
My sincerest condolences at this sad time.
Much love,
Terri

I just retired from Strathroy Hospital at Christmas after 45 years, and over many years when I was at work my path would cross with Mr. Kanters. We would always have a great chat. I have met many wonderful people during my years at the hospital, but Mr. Kanters was one of my favourites. He was such a gentleman and it was easy to be drawn to him. I am really sorry for your loss and the loss to his community.

We were so sorry to hear about Marinus..Thinking about you all at this difficult time.
We have so many happy memories shared with all of you at the "cottage" Birthdays and all of the happy occasions we shared together. Memories will have to sustain us now.
It's hard to believe he is not with us anymore.
We will miss him at our Sunday morning brunches with you Diane where he always kept us up to date with what his kids and grand kids were up to..He was so proud of all of you.
So sorry I can't with you all but if the plane is on time John should be able to be there around 4 on Sat.
Take care of each other.

Hi, while I didn't know Mr. Kanters personally, he brought me such joy with his music at 8:30 masses at All Saints. I hope I have the right person...playing the pan flute and harmonica, right?. We moved here in 2013. The first mass I heard him with the harmonica it brought me to tears. It was so lovely, and I never imagined that instrument as one used for hymns! I told him so after that mass... he probably thought I was wacky getting all choked up. I realize my memories pale in comparison to those who knew him well... but I wanted you to know that sometimes there is an impact to the things we do, that we may not realize. He deepened my praise and worship experience at mass and I will miss that terribly. May God bless him, and you during this time of grief.

My deepest sympathies to the Kanters family. I have great memories of you all at Our Lady Immaculate. Your parents were so proud of you all! It seems that the adventurous spirit did not stop with your immigrant parents as I see by the obituary that you really are spread far and wide. Enjoy and take solace in the support and fellowship you have in these days when you take leave of your Dad. God bless. Alice (de Gouw) Facchina

If only we could be with you to celebrate Marinus's life. He, your mom and you four kids are among our most cherished memories of our years in Canada. It is obvious all of you learned from the example set by your parents. We shall remember Marinus as hard working, fun loving, kind, caring, smart and hopelessly in love with your mom. He wore his pride in all of you, your children and your accomplishments, on his sleeve.
Please accept our deepest sympathy. We pray your faith and the love of family and friends will comfort and help heal your hurt.
