His children treated him to a trip to Baltimore in June to see his beloved Orioles. In August, he went to New Brunswick with Mike to watch the Strathroy Royals win a silver medal. Hockey was a major part of his life, playing minor hockey in Strathroy and Watford and senior hockey for the Watford Mustangs. For the last 22 years, Joe was equipment manager for the Strathroy Rockets, a position he enjoyed immensely. He was a constant figure in his signature red, white and blue toque at the arena. He took great pleasure in helping the boys turn into mature men as they went on to future hockey endeavors. He will be greatly missed by his hockey family and friends. Cremation has taken place. An open house will be held at the Strathroy Legion, 266 Metcalfe St. W on Saturday October 8th, 2016 from 2 pm until 6 pm. A Celebration of Joe’s Life will commence at 3 pm at the Legion.
