Obituary of John Marinus Van Dongen

Peacefully at Strathmere Lodge on Tuesday, June 14th, 2016, John Marinus Van Dongen passed in his 89th year. Loving husband of Joanne for 61 years. Cherished father of Dorothy (Pete) Van Riel, Murray Van Dongen, Janey (Brad) Scott and Harriet Szela. Opa of Paula (Dan), Brian (Cheryl), Kristy (Adam), Laurie (2000), Jordyn (Sean), Sam, Claire, Kurtis and Ben. Survived by his great grandchildren; Julia, Joey, Luke, Brooklyn, Hayden, Kyle, Tyler, Colton and Carlee. John will be missed by his many family and friends here and in the Netherlands. Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Thursday, June 16th, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Strathroy on Friday, June 17th, 2016 at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
