Obituary of Margaret Jean Smith

Peacefully passed on April 16th, 2016 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd (1995). Loving mother of Bruce (Beth) Smith and Maureen Smith (the late Sean O’Hara). Proud grandmother of Alex (Jenna), Brad (Kate), Nick, Robin, and Daniel. Cherished great-grandmother of Alexis and Alicya. Survived by her brother Neil (Maureen) Williams. Predeceased by her sister Betty (John) Hazzard. Margaret will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Margaret was an over 50 year member of Strathroy St. Andrews Presbyterian. Margaret will always be remembered as an avid volunteer with St. Andrew’s Presbyterian and many other community organizations. She was the proud recipient of the Governor General’s Volunteer award. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19th, 2016 from 2-4p.m and 7-9p.m at Denning’s of Strathroy. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 20th at 11a.m at Denning’s of Strathroy. Interment to follow at Bothwell Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Mission Services, London.
