Pete's passing came as a shock to us. Heather and I( former Flowers by Usss , Walkerton) are deeply saddened and give our heartfelt sympathies to all of you. Pete was always light-hearted and was so proud of his family. Even though we have all changed careers or retired, there is not a hot July day that we don't expect the Christmas truck! I heard about Peter's passing in Leduc, Alberta. My sincere condolances to you all. He was so young which makes it so hard. I didn't know Peter well, but I remember him from London Christian High school. He was a grade ahead of me.

Pete was always a smiling face, so vibrant, young and full of life- I couldn't believe the news that he had passed. Pete was in our cheese shop only two months ago, laughing and joking around and looking exceptionally healthy with his tanned glow from his cruise. He said his trip was amazing and so pleased he could go on it. Incredible to think he went so quickly after that. We are pleased he did not suffer too much and that you all had a chance to say how much you loved him and were with him as he passed. Even though we are separated by time and space, we have not forgotten the many wonderful folks living in the Strathroy area. I've never met Pete. My family knows him. Renata Nydan, my sister, goes to your church. Rick Dykstra, my brother, played organ when Pete sang in the choir. I came upon your blog late on but I am so thankful for your posts. Almost 3 years ago we lost my dad, Jack Dykstra. You may know him :). Your experience reminded me of him. So difficult to watch the ones you love suffer. I was in Strathroy today, at your church and I felt the love. Felt the loss. I wish you peace and comfort during this time of sadness.
