This was either the first or last day at the Air Traffic Control school at Toronto airport. I'm afraid I can't remember which. But I do remember Chris....and I am saddened by your loss.

My sympathies to Chris' family. I got to know Chris when he became involved with the 535 Leamington cadets during a somewhat difficult time for the squadron. Chris was a calming influence and was of great assistance to myself as we worked through that period of time. It was a pleasure to have known you - Rest in Peace

I'll always remember Chris as a very cheerful and friendly person. Chris was the first instructor I encountered in my early career as an air traffic controller and he always made me feel most welcomed and appreciated. As a young controller trainee that meant a lot! Chris always had the patience and ability to be a role model for numerous air cadets throughout his career with the Air Cadet program. I enjoyed my years working with Chris and will always look back on my early years with Chris with much kindness and affection. My deepest sympathies to his wife Christine and his extended family.

I am passing on condolences from my family to yours. My father and Chris knew each other throughout the years, and I find it not only necessary, but befitting to send our thoughts to your entire family at this time. I learned very early as a child, that the cadet and military movement is a family unto itself in this country. Something that both my father and I were not only aware of- but truly proud to be a part of. You are in the same family.
Thoughts and regards,
Jill Hammond on behalf of my entire family.

Chris was a hero and guiding presence to anyone who was lucky enough to know him. He was an inspiration to me personnally and I think I received some of the best advice I ever got in life from him. Many times when faced with big decisions or tricky choices, I wondered (sometimes aloud) "What would Redfearn do in this instance?" Other times I'd call to find out and share a laugh or two.
With love and sincere condolences,

The staff and cadets of 792 Air Cadets in Iroquois Falls are very sorry to learn of Major Retired Redfearn's passing. Though very distant from his stomping grounds, our squadron benefitted from Chris' attention, salutations, and encouragement - as did many other air cadet units in this large province. We are thankful for his vision and the enhusiastic work he did in many projects such as the Aeronca course. He will be missed, and remembered.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a great man, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and huge supporter of the Air Cadet movement. I am honored and blessed to have known Chris Sr. Chris recruited me into the Air Cadets and for that I am grateful. A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on. Please accept our condolences, he will not be forgotten. May our Lord bless and comfort you and your family during this time of grief. He is flying that jet in heaven.

Our heartfelt condolences to all of you. Uncle Chris was a great man with many talents. Among them was his way of making people feel welcome, and his great way with kids. I spent a good deal of time with my 'Aunty Chris and Uncle Chris' when I was a young child and I remember fondly how kind he was and how much he did to keep all us kids (and there were a lot of us!!) entertained! Many memories of rambunctious times spent with Chris, Barbara, and Pam. Love and hugs from The Neubauer family.
