Dear Elma and Family,
May I express my condolences at this sad time. We have not seen each other for some years, but I heard the most recent news of you and yours from Liz Jennaway Eaman after the H. Ec. conference. I guess that she told you that I was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer in early 2013, but I seem to have beaten it for the moment.
Are the boys and their families nearby to you or, like so many young people these days, scattered all over the universe? Please extend to them my deepest sympathy. It takes some time to adjust when we lose a loved one. I hope that, when time permits, you will keep in touch. Email and almost free long distance are wonderful for that.
