My grampa was an amazing man.
Some of my fondest childhood memories are with him up at camp with my grandma and him. Hunting, fishing, boating, rafting, visiting friends of which they had many and spending time with my parents & them together.
He was my closest connection to Northern Ontario and always will be. I was fortunate enough to have been to Thunder Bay recently for the wedding of my cousin and visited Red Rock and took many pictures of Thunder Bay & Red Rock. I could see the light in his eye and his mind spinning with thousands of fond memories.
Also fortunate enough was I to spend 2 days with him in September. Weather was beautiful and we ate fresh oysters, pan fried pickerel from Lake Superior & went out for ice cream. He had a red top and bottom and his warm shoes and we got some scoops & went to the park. We sat and watched some kids play and he was so calm and peaceful and happy.
I love you grampa. Rest in peace and give grandma a big hug for me.
