Dear Zannella Family It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Gidio. A husband, a cousin and a friend to so many. A lifetime as an expression in context, feels far too short. His passing leaving a void that no other can fill. He embraced life to the full and lived it as one should, like there may be no tomorrow. In essence he was teaching us that we should do the same! His love for us all will be missed. I will always admire his ability to walk into any space and make friends instantly, be liked by all and be respected when it mattered. I am thankful for having had the privilege to say that we were family and friends and appreciate him for who he was and haing spent time with him. Our sincerest condolences go out to all of you. We should honor his wish to see the family getting together often and actually do it. The family misses him. Ronald & Family

Gidio Theres no words! still cant believe it. someone like u should never have left this world, with your charm, values and attractive personality. I remember in 94 when i was in Brasil, we went to the beach, You, Mary, Andre and myself. while there u showed me the ring u were going to give to the love of your life, Mary. then we were all on the beach the day you proposed. After that, you and I spoke of what was important in life, family! thank you for all the great memories, and words of wisdom you shared with me. my very deepest condolences to Mary, Amanda and Bruna. your cousin Lingo

Gidio You were taking way to soon from us cuz, even though we have not seen each other in years but i still have memories of us spending lots of time together when we were still back in Brasil, you were always the one person to bring smiles and joy to everyone and every party. Your presence was always felt when you were in the room. You will always be in our hearts I will remember you always. Rest in Peace.

How sudden you were gone. I've met very few people who have as much love and compassion for this world as you did. You made people feel welcome in your presence and peoples spirits were lifted immediately with that amazing smile. We all were truly blessed to have you for this short time and my memories of you, I will carry with me always. I miss you dear friend. Keep everyone smiling up there.

You are your father's son, Gidio. Caring. Nurturing. Mischevious, with an incredible sense of humour! I was very young when you left SA. Still, you made the impression that you did. You've left behind something very special in that you make people strive to achieve their goals as you did. Your greatest achievement, your incredible wife and daughters. Like you held me as a toddler in your secure arms all those years ago, I'm confident your Dad is holding you in his comforting arms now. Arrivederci, Gidio.

My Dear friend Gidio - how sad and sudden the news of your passing is - I was unaware of your illness. I met Gidio in junior school and we were friends aged 10 and 11 for two years. My memory of Gidio was of his extreme kindness and generosity. He never judged anyone and was extremely patient with everyone. We reconnected on Facebook a few years back and I was so touched that he remembered our childhood friendship. He told me about his beautiful wife and two lovely daughters. He was so proud of his lovely family. He seemed to live life to the full and what I got was that he was an exceptionally happy man. All his posts and photos were of love, pride, fun and above all adoration for his family and always brought a smile to my face. Few people in this world have that unique ability - he even brought a smile to my own family when I relayed memories of him. And as an aside he introduced me to Caipirinhas after seeing a Facebook post of his a few years ago and asked him what they are! To his wife and daughters - we don't know each other and I wish we did. My condolences to you - you were blessed with an amazing man in your lives and I am so extremely sorry for your loss. RIP wonderful soul - I will never forget you. Thank you for your friendship Mandy

Gigo, You have been taken away, way before your time. I bet your dad, my dad, Zia Lucia and Zia Christina are welcoming you with a caipirinha in hand. Whenever we miss you, we will just have to look to the moon to see you smiling down on us. Rest in peace cuz, you will always be in our hearts. (Look after the oldies, who knows what they have been up to)
