Obituary of John Bannister

Suddenly at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Sunday, February 23, 2014, John Winston Bannister of Ailsa Craig, in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Gloria (Fox) for 49 1/2 years. Loving father of Lori Allen (Dean) of Crediton, Charlene Sadler (Mark) of Parkhill, Steve Bannister (Brenda) of Beechwood. Proud gramps of Abby, Ben, Derek, Matthew, Michael, Mark and Nicholas. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Isabel (Rose) Bannister, as well as his brother Cap (Charles) Bannister and sister-in-law Marg Bannister. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the T. Stephenson & Son Funeral Home, Ailsa Craig on Wednesday from 4-8p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Ailsa Craig Community Centre, 155 Annie Ada Shipley Street, Ailsa Craig, on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 1 p.m. Interment in Nairn Cemetery at a later date. In memory of John, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Trillium Gift of Life Network.
