Obituary of Peter Aarts

Peacefully in his home, with his loving wife of almost 60 years, Mary by his side, Peter made his journey to meet God on January 30, 2014 in his 90th year. Beloved father of John Aarts of Strathroy, Frances Aarts (Brian) of Buckhorn, Angela Aarts (Kenn) of Victoria and Rosemary Hicks (Steve) of London. Loving grandfather to Cyrus, Stephanie, Petra, Paul, Samuel, Emily, Alexandra, Grace and Nathan. Beloved brother to Dina Aarts, Mary Aarts and Tony Aarts (Gertrude) and sister-in-law Mary Aarts. Predeceased by brothers William, John and Arnold. He will be missed by his loving in-laws Nellie, Ann, Helma, Mary, Tina and Jerry and his many nephews, nieces and friends. Peter was a man who fiercely loved his family, took immense pride in his home and was a dedicated member of the Strathroy community. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m, with Knights of Columbus Service at 1:30 p.m. and Parish Prayers at 7p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in All Saints Roman Catholic Church on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Father Lucio Couto officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or the SMGH Foundation. Online condolences can be made at www.denningfuneralhomes.com. Peter had, in his life, planted many trees. To honour him, a tree will be planted as a living memorial to Peter.
