Obituary of Henny Roo

Henny De Roo, at her home in Strathroy on April 30th, 2006 surrounded by loving family members after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, in her 74th year. Survived by her husband of 53 years, Hilbert. Dear mother of Mary Beeksma and husband Jack of Prince George, B.C., Tilda VanderHoek and husband Syd of St. Thomas, Jim DeRoo and wife Reine of Kitchener, Harry De Roo and wife Elaine Cote of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Judy Hager and husband Greg of Aniak, Alaska, Ron De Roo and wife Sonja of Stouffville, Linda DeRoo and Paula De Roo both of Strathroy. Sadly missed by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Predeceased by granddaughter Erika VanderHoek (2002). Fondly remembered by many other family members and friends in Canada and the Netherlands. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in the Strathroy East Christian Reformed Church, 476 Metcalfe St. E. in Strathroy, where the funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Andrew de Gelder officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Strathroy Community Christian School or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the DeRoo family.
