Obituary of Doris Downes

On April 30, 2007 in her 84th year, Doris E. Downes, daughter of Robert and Ethel Palmer, passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital. Born May 25, 1923 in London, England, Doris was a very proud WWII veteran who lived life with great faith, strength and wisdom. She will be sadly missed by her five children, Gary L. Downes (Ellen), Robert J. Downes (Liza Jane), Maureen Cox, Janine M. Jaansoo (Peter Hamelin) and Raymond P. Downes. Doris also leaves behind many grand and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly. Our family would like to thank the many wonderful people at UH 9th floor and Parkwood 3AE whom gave so much care and compassion to us all. A military service and interment will he held in Collingwood, Ontario at a later date.
