Obituary of Carl Andrew Mollard

Carl Andrew Mollard January 4, 1964 - October 8, 2024

“You never get hurt in a lazy boy chair”, Carl’s most famous quote. Peacefully on a beautiful fall day on the family farm, in the comfort of his lazy boy, Carl joined his cherished Granddaughter Zoey Mollard (2019). Loving husband and best friend of Anne (Gilbert). Proud and loving father to Sean and Candace, Ross and Emily, Brooke and Jeff Oswald. Adoring Grandpa to Hazel, Jack, Roy, Harvey, Mabel and Liam. Devoted son to Eric and Betty Ann. Brother to Lisa (Gary) Wort, Jeff (Sue) Mollard, Martha (Colin) Leyburn. Brother in law to Harold Gilbert. Predeceased by in-laws Clinton and Grace Gilbert . Carl was fortunate to have many loving family including Nieces, Nephews, Aunts and Uncles and a huge circle of friends. 

As all good farmers do, Carl made sure the crops were harvested, the cattle were organized, and next year's wheat crop was planted this fall. Carl was a dedicated farmer who spent his entire life on the family farm in McGillivray Township. Whether he was milking the cows, organizing the harvest and his helpers - he was the happiest on the farm. Carl would never admit it, but he did love to travel and sit back and relax with a cold beverage or two. Over the years he and Anne traveled Canada, US, Caribbean, Mexico, South America and Central America. Carl will always be remembered for his smart sayings or nickname. You never knew what would come out of his mouth, but it usually made everyone laugh. Carl loved his children, but when his grandkids arrived, the pride he took in each and everyone of them was incredible. 

Like a shooting star flying across the sky, so fast, so far, and gone too soon.

The family would like to thank Dr P Blanchett, Dr J Laba ,Amy McCready NP and Jennifer Murray NP for their kindness and guidance over the past 4.5 years of Carl's journey. As well as all of the staff at the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre who have been so caring, and the staff at Paramed for their in-home care. 

Celebration of Carl’s Life will be held on Sunday, October 13th, 2024 at the North Middlesex Community Centre in Parkhill. Visitations will be held from 11am - 12:30pm with a Celebration to follow at 1:00p.m. As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Strathroy Hospital MRI Unit (Cheque made payable to "Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation- MRI Unit") or Ronald McDonald House.
