What a shock to learn that Wilma is gone, she was such an amazing lady. Full of fun and great ideas. Wonderful gardener. She volunteered again and again for the Friends of Ye Olde Towne hall. Came to CraigActive until she moved from Ailsa Craig, was one of the first members of the AuSable singers. Whenever you needed a helping hand she was there, volunteering for the Quilt, Festival, ticket taker, making telephone calls when needed. She kept current with modern technology, even if she needed a helping hand getting things going. Wilma could be seen at craft show as she was a firm believer is supporting the little guy. And what fun it was to sit with her at Gala Days and chat about local events and her gardens. Also, it seemed to me that she was a very shrewd business person. She will certainly be missed by her wonderful family, and those who cared for her here in our little village,

Wilma and I shared several years while driving school bus. I thoroughly enjoyed our visits. She had many stories to tell and many opinions to share. I respected and honoured them all. What a woman!

I first met Wilma at Seasons when Mom ( Donna Elliott, nee Wernham) resided there. I believe Mom knew Stewart. Mom eventually moved to Strathmere, and Wilma followed. During a conversation at Seasons, Wilma mentioned the Armed Forces, which was extremely interesting to me. As recently as the Car Show at Strathmere,(now an auxiliary volunteer), I sat on the bench in front of Strathmere with Wilma, who probably did not remember who I was...for goodness sake, she was almost 100 years old! R.I.P. Wilma, your rest is well deserved, your chats were enjoyed, your presence will be missed.
