Obituary of Anthony LaMantia

It is with great sadness the family of Anthony LaMantia announces his passing on May 9th, 2024 in his 83^rdyear. Loving husband of Dawn LaMantia for 62 wonderful years, the love of his life. Cherished father of Sheri (Mike) Lalich and the late Todd LaMantia (2021). Proud grandpa of Brad (Gabby) Lalich and Bailey (Jamie) Hamelin. Great-grandpa of Eli Lalich and Kaycie Hamelin. Son of the late Madelon and Joseph LaMantia. Anthony will be fondly remembered by his siblings Joe (Betty) LaMantia, Bobby (Judy) LaMantia and Sally (Paul) Johnson. Beloved son-in-law and brother-in-law of the late Irene and John Rutherford, Ruthanne (Ken) Enwright and Grant (Shirley) Rutherford. Uncle Tony will be joining his niece and nephews who have gone before him. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. 

Anthony was very proud to have had 40 years of Sunday family dinners, gathering with all 4 generations of the LaMantia family for the last 8 years. Anthony was a family man through and through. Anthony and Dawn spent 35 years wintering in Florida, he loved to be by the water and spend time with family.  Anthony’s friends and neighbours will miss his bike ride visits. Born and raised in Strathroy, ON, Anthony loved to be a part of his community, going to local events, working at his families downtown store or simply just visiting with his local community members. He loved sports and horseracing, he spent many days at the track. Anthony will be missed by all who knew him. 

A Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 15^th, 2024 from 10:00am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00am at All Saints Roman Catholic Church. A private family interment will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital or All Saints Roman Catholic Church.
