Obituary of Joyce Emily Tippey

Joyce passed away peacefully, on April 6, 2024, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with dementia. She is deeply loved by her husband, Nick; her children, Mark (Tracey) and Lisa (Doug) Kenny.
Her grandchildren, Lindsay and Kyle brought her great joy, she cherished every moment she spent with them, and they will treasure their memories of her.
Born to parents Roy and Leata Anderton; Joyce is predeceased by her brothers Donnie (Bertie) and Ronnie (Elanor).
 
Joyce was born on March 31, 1937 in Chatham, Ontario. She met the love of her life, Nick, and were married for 64 years.
 
Joyce made the world a better place. She will be missed by all who knew her. Her love for life knew no bounds and she found joy in song, travel and a lifelong thirst for knowledge. She was a longtime cottager at Ipperwash Beach, living there for 20 years. The cottage was a place that delighted her and where she enjoyed reading, and spending time with family and friends.
 
Joyce and Nick have a deep circle of friends, many for several decades.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to their friends, as well as the compassionate medical professionals for their unwavering care and support during Joyce's illness.
 
Cremation has taken place.  As per Joyce’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
