Traci,
My heart goes out to you as you grieve the loss of your husband, Doug. I was so sad to hear the news of his sudden passing.
The old Bodyparts gym is where I began to have a passion for health and fitness, and developed a deeper understanding of the human body. Being trained by you, Traci, launched me into a better and more confident version of myself, and when I graduated as an RMT, Doug gave me my first job working at the gym. Although I could have felt like a little fish in a big pond treating the clients of a world class body builder, Doug always had time to chat with me and valued my input. He exuded joy and had a zest for life. The things I learned during my time at your gym helped me not only professionally, but personally as well and I’ll always look back on my time there with fondness.
I pray that you, Teresa, Tyler, and Glenn will find peace through this process as you come together to celebrate his incredible life and legacy.

Doug,
When I received a text from your phone last week I was overjoyed. Thoughts of catching up with a dear friend raced into my head but when I read the message that announced your passing it could not have been more devastating. I am shattered at the news.
When I first met Doug I was skinny, naive and directionless. The fateful day I walked into the Bodyparts gym, instead of a routine training regime and a standard fitness facility, I found Traci and Doug Langford and my life was forever changed. Together an unstoppable team - knowledgeable, dedicated, passionate and driven. Doug began as my first fitness instructor and program co-ordinator - transforming me not only physically, but intellectually. Later he became a workout partner, motivator and mentor and through it all a dear friend. For many years Doug guided me astutely in the gym and through life, always influencing and challenging both body and mind. Doug was always positive, generous, kind, jovial and perspicacious. He was the rarest of individuals one can ever be fortunate enough to have in their lives that truly believed in me and in my potential without hesitation or judgement. Most importantly, his greatest gift was that he was also capable of making me believe in myself. I will never be able to fully articulate how fortunate I was to have a man like Doug Langford in my corner and in my life for all those years. As a father-figure and a friend, his lessons and council not only shaped and guided me then, but continue to this day. They will live on in me and through me forever.
Doug was brilliant and aware of how much he positively influenced and inspired those he was close to. I know how proud he must have been. I know how difficult and selfless an act it was to have such a profound effect on so many peoples lives. I will forever regret that he didn't get to hear these words from me directly. Much of what I am today and who I have become I owe to Doug Langford. The world has lost a great man.
I miss you Doug.
Love Shane House & Family(Alina, Liam and Maya)

I just heard of this news. I had the pleasure of being coached by Doug when I was 19yrs old and worked at his gym in st thomas. He shaped my views of bodybuilding and fitness. But I learned much more as well. The pride you carry will be a result of your efforts. I learned things from Doug that to this day, some 20+ yrs later, I now bring up and share with people I now help and coach in fitness. He was a man ahead of his time and I'll never forget the times of training with him and sharing laughs. I respected him alot. He clearly has left a legacy and effected so many positively. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.

Doug, when I walked into your Basic Training Plus bodybuilding supplement store in the early 90s, my life changed forever. You were a friend, a business partner, a mentor, a life coach, a motivator and a saviour. I will never forget my own Dad thanking you for being a Father figure to me during my years away from home. This sad news has rocked me to the core. Never have I met another human being so willing to look for the good in every person and so generous to bring out the best in everybody they meet. To this day, I still marvel at the ability you had to strike common ground within thirty seconds of meeting any total stranger, no matter their walk of life. What else can I say about you, the person that taught me how to dig deep and never give up, how to walk quietly and carry a big stick, and how to turn dreams into reality. I can only pray that when it is my time, I will be lucky enough to see you again. My deepest condolences to your entire family and the "3 Ts", as you were so fond of saying. I know how much you loved them.

I went through quite a “shakeup” in my life several years ago; although I didn’t know Doug well, he instinctively knew I was going through a tough period and was very engaging. We had two long conversations about life and love at the old St Thomas Health Club that were very encouraging. He left an impression on me and I’m saddened to learn of his passing. My sincere condolences go out to Traci and all of the friends and family.
