Obituary of Kathy Ledingham

The family is sad to announce the passing of Kathleen Joanne Ledingham (nee Kerr), 84 years old, of Strathroy, on Thursday, March 7 after a long and full life. She is predeceased by parents Walter and Mary Kerr and sister Patsy Reay. Kathy leaves behind her husband Bill, sons Jeff, Mike (Suzanne), Paul (Mary), Bob (Sheryl), 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Kathy was a wonderful wife to Bill, mother to her four sons, mother-in-law to her daughters in law and grandmother to her grandchildren.  

Kathy grew up in Varney, Ontario where she met Bill in nearby Durham. After marrying Bill in 1957, they relocated many times as a result of Bill’s career in banking but lived primarily in Southwestern Ontario. Bill and Kathy eventually settled in Strathroy, Ontario and enjoyed numerous years of retirement with good friends. Kathy dedicated many years of service to the Strathroy branch of the IODE. She enjoyed golfing at Bear Creek golf course, scrapbooking, and Sunday dinners with family. Kathy lived her final years with Bill at Country Terrace Nursing home where she was well looked after and cared for. Her family is her legacy, and she will be missed terribly.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 12, 2024, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY (32 Metcalfe St. West, Strathroy). A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Reception will follow.
