My condolences to the Giffen family on the passing of Norm. He was a busy man in the community and will be missed. It was a pleasure to see him out to our last R.C.L. Zone meeting of the branches in A5 at Strathroy last month. He will be missed around the Legions in our Zone.

Our condolences to the Giffen family
Norma and Rose Marie were always great Riverside Drive neighbours to my mother Fran Long and her husband Ernie Carruthers. Ernie always bought a new white car every three years and Norm bought the old car. Norm was a great story teller and important contributor to our local Strathroy & District Historical Society. There were always stories about the mail train and local street names and whenever he saw my wife Heather, he talked about driving her high school bus in Caradoc Township during the winter. The snow drifts were high and low visibility but he got the students home with some excitement. I was glad that I was on the Lobo school buses. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear about your Dad, Murray and Perry. I remember when your dad hired Shirley and I to help sort the mail at the post office at Christmas time. Thousands of Christmas cards back then and he made sure each one made it to the right home! He taught me good work ethics, that's for sure! So sorry for your loss.

I can always remember Norm saying "your socks need to be one inch below the knee", and checking even when he wasn't required to. Your bark was worse than your bite!! Laura and I enjoyed the times with Shirley( and Rollie) at the cottage, and Norm strutting around town. RIP
