Devoted and much loved husband, father, brother, and Gramps. Beloved husband of Nancy for 56 special and cherished years. Loving Pa of Karen Bice and Kathy Larocque. Proud and dedicated Gramps of Brooke and Haylee Bice. John will be remembered by his special family; Grace Bradish and Andy Thompson, Jean (Dan), Ian (Sarah) and his adorable bonus grandbaby Orin Lawlor. John was the brother of Jim (Donna) Dowding and Bob Larocque.

John is predeceased by his parents Jack and Mary Dowding and his sisters and brother-in-law; Peggy (Brad) Barclay and Debbie Ponts. John is survived by his brother-in-law Charlie Ponts.

John is the brother-in-law of Bill (Marilyn) Oakes, Norma (Jim) Robertson and Debbie (Tom) Pereira. Predeceased by his sister-in-law Roberta Giffen.

He was Uncle John to many nieces and nephews.

John looked back with pride at his years of serving in the Navy. He cherished many travel memories of cruising with Nancy, Bill and Marilyn. John touched the lives of many people throughout the community, whether it was through church, his mail route or sports and always had a joke, story or laugh to share. He was a billet dad and hockey coach to many and a devoted Strathroy Rocket fan. But most of all, John treasured time spent with his family and sharing in the many passions of his daughters and his grandgirls. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
