Obituary of Sandra Schakel

Sandra Louise Schakel passed peacefully at Middlesex Terrace on Thursday, January 18th, 2024, in her 76th year. 

Beloved mother of David Schakel of London.  Grandmother of Jamie, Tyler, Ashlee and Austin and several great grandchildren. 

Survived by her brother Jim (Donna) Pedden and many nieces and nephews. Sandy will be fondly remembered and missed by extended family members and friends, including Garry and Lin Schakel. 

Sandy was born in Strathroy on April 27, 1947, to the late Charles and Julia (nee Tunks) Pedden. Sandy lived her entire life here in Strathroy. She was the proud owner of the bulk food store, Spice of Life, which was located on Front Street for many years. 

Friends and family will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY On Wednesday, January 24^th, 2024 from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00am.  Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com
