Obituary of Louie Edward de Smit

It is with great sadness the family of Louie “Lou” de Smit announces his passing at home on September 29^th, 2023 at the age of 84. 

Lou will be missed by his wife Helen de Smit, children Terri (Mike) Buwalda, Sue Tyson, Bert (Kelly) de Smit and Carol (Chris) Andrew. Proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Brother of Albert (Carrie) de Smit and Emily de Smit. Predeceased by both his parents and sister Linda Booker. 

Lou was born in Puce, Ontario to Eduardus and Margarette de Smit on July 16^th, 1939. He was employed for many years at Glendale Recreational Vehicles in Strathroy, ON. 

As per Lou’s wishes a private family graveside service will take place at Strathroy Cemetery.
