It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Raymond George Wilson announces his passing at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on July 12, 2023 in his 91^st year.  He was married to his loving wife Dorothy (nee McLean) just two weeks short of 68 years.  Together they raised six children whom he was very proud of Heather Brooks (Rod), Gayle Currie (David), Owen (Bonny), Glenn predeceased (Mary-Ellen), Darrin (Kim) and Dean (Ashley).  He loved his 14  grandchildren very much – Ian (Kaylin), Josh (Amanda), Zack (Vannessa), Kayla, Jordan (Nicole), Haley (Matt), Brock (Deandra), Syrus, Drew, Brandon (Courtney), Curtis, Trevor, Caitlin and Ryan.  He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren who brightened his world – Laila and Kane, with a third one to arrive in September.  He is survived by his brother Keith of Kerwood, predeceased by his parents George and Merrilline and brothers Melvin and Gordon.

He served on Metcalfe Township council and later became their clerk-treasurer for 25 years until his retirement in January 1998.  He loved farming and was extremely interested in harness racing.

There will be visitation at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Monday, July 17^th, 2023 from  2:00p.m.-4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. A private funeral will be held on Tuesday. He always had a special place in his heart for children.  In lieu of flowers, Raymond requested that you consider donating to the Ronald McDonald House.
