Obituary of Jean Lewis

Peacefully, surrounded by family, Jean Lewis (nee Curnew) passed away on June 30^th, 2023 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Harold Lewis (2003). Cherished mother of Harold Jr (Wendy), Gary (Sue), Len (Marianne), Shawn (Grace), Lori (Elvis) and Lorraine. She was predeceased by her beautiful daughter, Cheryl (2017). Grandmother of Christa, Stephanie, Amanda, Gary Jr., Jamie-Lee, Bradley, Nicole, David, Michael, Monica, Jordyn, Danielle, Taylor, Greg, Paige, Mitchell and Brandon. Currently, Great Grandma of twenty-one. She was truly blessed. 

She will be fondly remembered by her siblings; Mary, Walt, Lorraine, Bill, Gerald and John. Predeceased by her brothers, George and Raymond. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. 

Jean was born July 11, 1938 and lived in the Valley, Bell Island, Newfoundland and moved to Strathroy in 1966.  Jean always said her heart belonged in Newfoundland and spent most of her summers there. She was a vibrant lady with a warm smile and sweet giggle. She walked this path alone for the last 20 years without Harold by her side, she is now back with the love of her life and greeted with hugs from Cheryl. 

Jean spent the last 5 years of her life at the Bear Creek Unit at Strathmere Lodge, they took wonderful care of her, she adored them all. Jean will be missed by everyone who knew her.

A visitation will take place on July 7^th, 2023 at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY from 11:00am – 12:30pm. A private family service will be held. Interment to follow at All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery.
