Obituary of Susan Annette Rychel

After a short and courageous battle with cancer, on June 8, 2023 with family by her side, Susan Rychel at the age of 63 was called home into the arms of her lord and saviour. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

She was a cherished and devoted wife to Joe Rychel of 40 years, a loving mother to Joey Rychel and Heather (Bryan) Jakimczuk and a very proud Oma to Gracie and Charlette.

Susan was born on Feb 5, 1960, in Sarnia, Ontario.  At a very young age she worked with her dad in their fields and at the Sarnia farmers market selling their flowers and vegetables. This led to her passion to become a floral designer, interior decorator and sales personal. Sue’s kind and loving heart always made a huge impact on others around her.

Loved by her siblings Henny (Rob) Drope and Carl (Helen) Kap. Deceased by her parents John and Wilhelmina Kap. Predeceased by her siblings Frank (Vicki) Kap, Mieke (Martin) Postma, Helen (Bert) Lammers and Joan (Brian) Keanie. She was a very special aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr Perkin, niece Stephanie and The Palliative Care Team at Bluewater Health for all their compassionate care, and to our family and friends for all their love, prayers and acts of kindness.

A private service will be held. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY from 2:00PM -5:00PM.
