Obituary of Clive Hindmarsh

Clive D Hindmarsh born February 19 1955 With grace dignity and tremendous faith, Clive passed into the kingdom of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ on August 04, 2008. Clive was surrounded by the love of his cherished wife Mary (Derhagopian) and their family. Clive is predeceased by his father Douglas Ray Hindmarsh, his Uncle George Hindmarsh (Donna), his father in-law Carl Derhagopian and his brother in-law Dr. Michael LaPorta. He is survived by his mother Paulina Hindmarsh (Macdonald), his mother in-law Mary Derhagopian (Erickson) of South Dakota as well as his wife Mary and children Douglas and Sarah all of the Ailsa Craig area. He is also survived by his sister Patricia LaPorta of Illinois and his brothers James Larry and Kevin Alexander of Ailsa Craig and his brother's in-law Jack (Mary Ellen) and Carl Derhagopian of South Dakota. Clive had many cherished nephews and nieces. Clive was a talented automobile restoration artist. He ran his own auto body restoration shop (H&H) for many years. Later in life, Clive also worked in sales of heavy equipment lubrication systems and automotive finishing supplies. Clive was a long standing member of A.A.B. &.P.M and he has mentored many young people over the years. His dedication to them was limitless and without boundaries. The club is mourning his loss. He valued the fellowship of other long time members and often called upon them for counsel in his mentoring work. Clive was an active member of his community. He spent countless hours and personal resources fighting for causes he believed in locally and internationally. Clive always had the courage to put his efforts into things he felt passionately about. His life time efforts will leave changes for many on personal levels as well as in his community. His love for nature and animals will be felt by his loyal dog Cody, as well as his front yard friends, the chipmunks and birds. Visitation will be held at T. Stephenson funeral home in Ailsa Craig on Friday August 08, 2008 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Clive's funeral will be at the funeral home at 11a.m. with Pastor Doug Loveday officiating. Refreshments and a short time of fellowship will be held at the Ailsa Craig Legion after the funeral. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Clive to Granton Community Bible Church or Strathroy Hospital. The celebration of family and friends benefit that had been arranged by Mary's co-workers on August 16 to assist in the costs of alternative cancer treatments and other expenses will still be held as a joyous celebration of Clive's life.
