Dear Kennes family: : Yvonne and I are saddened by the passing of our very good friend and godmother to our youngest daughter, Rachel. Louise, as we called her, has always been very dear to us, ever since we met her after we had moved to the Ailsa Craig area, in the late 1970’s. She, and her loving husband, Harry, took their promises to encourage their godchild to grow in faith very seriously. All through the years, first with both Harry and Louise, and then also when Harry had departed this life, we kept in close contact. Louise regularly visited us, and we often were her guest at her home where, each time, she faithfully prepared our favourite soup and a wholesome lunch. We cherish the memories of those wonderful get-togethers. We are blessed that we could help Louise celebrate her 90th birthday at Strathmere Lodge. Despite her loss of full cognitive functioning, she was still coherent enough to know us. We are grateful for that. What is heartening as well is the awareness that Louise and her beloved Harry are now permanently united, in the presence of our Creator. To Elisabeth's Family. Please accept our deepest Sympathy in the loss of Elisabeth. I had the pleasure of her company on many bus trips with Ilderton Tours. She was always a joy to have on the bus and when she got together with her sisters on a trip it was even better. The last time I saw her was when I was visiting my brother in Strathmere. I believe she recognized me when I mentioned Ilderton Tours but the next time I saw her she did not.
