Obituary of Lenny Swales

Leonard “Lenny” Swales passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday March 30, 2023 in his 78th year. Beloved and devoted husband of Ruth (nee Andrew) for 54 years. Loving father to Lisa (Ross) Stachow. Proud papa to Madalyn, Olivia Stachow and fur grandbaby Maci.  Cherished brother-in-law to Bill (Elaine) Andrew, the late Betty (Harold) Merton and Jim (Judith) Chamberlain. Special uncle of Christopher (Carol) and Paula (Pat).  Great uncle to Rachel and Spencer. Len was predeceased by his parents Phyllis (nee Arnold) and Cecil “Toots” Swales, sisters Sandy Adlam, Marie Welch and brother Bob Swales. Len will be missed by his many nieces and nephews from the Swales, Welch and Chamberlain families. Lenny will be fondly remembered by his lifelong friend Larry Richardson. 

Lenny grew up in Strathroy, then later moving to Appin to settle down and create a family. He loved his family, they always came first. Len was a hard worker, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a western movie enthusiast, his family always said he was born in the wrong time. We hope he is riding and doing his western thang in heaven.

A Visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on April 4^th, 2023 from 12:00pm until time of Memorial Service at 1:00pm.
