Archie “John” Fletcher

Peacefully in the presence of his daughters on March 22, 2023, John Fletcher passed away at the age of 83. John was the beloved husband of the late Mary Fletcher. He was the very proud father of his twin daughters Patricia Wraith (Stephen) and Peggy Jakimczuk (Jonathan). Loving grandpa (Poppy) of Keira, Marshall, and Nash, and step-grandpa of Zoe, Caylan, Kyus, and Matthew. John will be dearly missed by his brother George and his niece Deanna Holmes. John was predeceased by his parents and his many siblings.

John was a long-time resident of Strathroy and truly loved the area and community. John was very active. He loved to go on long walks, bike rides, and fishing. John was an avid camper and a lover of country music. He loved his trips to Food Basics and made sure to test the grapes before purchasing them. John loved spending time with his family. He was extremely proud of his daughters and cherished all of his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly. 

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of the staff and volunteers at Chartwell Gardens in Parkhill for the incredible care and compassion shown to John during his stay. 

As per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. In memory of John, donations may be made to the St. Clair Conservation Area.
