Obituary of Max Shamblaw

 

Max passed away peacefully in Almonte on March 9th , 2023 in his 101st year. Beloved husband of Hazel (Newcombe) of 69 years. Max was the youngest of seven children of William and Alice (Watson) Shamblaw. Predeceased by siblings Gladys, Leola, Carl, Dave, John and Violet. Dear father of Fay (Larry) Noland, Verna (Ken) McGregor, Ira (2013) (Shirley). Grandfather of: Julie (Ray), Cynda (Ken), Dennis, Tammy (Jeff), Lana (1990), Graham, Laura (Dustin), Mike (Laura), Jeremy (Kelly), Janelle (John). Great-Grandfather of: Caleb, Carter, Cody, Jenna, Devon, Shawn, Owen (2020), Ronan, Luke, Brooklyn, Carter, Brady, Cameron, Cole, Liam, Chase, Archie & Hank. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Max was born and raised at Napier Road, Kerwood where he farmed and repaired farm machinery for many years.
Most importantly in life, Max loved his Bible, the message of hope in the gospel and had a deep trust and a living faith in the living God that stood by him all his days to the end.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place.   

A secondary visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Denning's of Strathroy Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe St W, Strathroy, Ontario with a visitation again at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. service in the chapel on Saturday, March 18. Interment will follow at the Strathroy Municipal Cemetery.
